Venture
I posted this earlier (or thought I did, can't find it)
The reasons: 1> the venture is known by just about every player who signs up for a trial account now. 2> its 'front-runners' can house USB ports (as many as 8, one in each 'box' and two pointing forward) 3> its 'main hull' could house a number of useful items, like a CD drive, external hrad drive, external ram, or even a solid state hard drive.
Enabling #2 and #3 could move the model from the hobbyist shelves to the electronic shelves or even into the electronic stores (where the customer is more likely to try EvE online). Also, the ship could house a screensaver for the purchaser's computer. I know I would certainly enjoy watching ships travel around, warping to and using stargates, walking around in captain's quarters. Such a screensaver would entice a lot more people to try EvvE online.

Nijiho wrote:I would love T3 type of ships, battleship size. Best of the best would be if you could do modular capital ships. This time give the modular ships the ability to morph into industrials and transport as well and to specialise into very narrow roles.
Another great feature would be some kind of ultra reinforced ship which can be piloted, is very slow, is modular and which has extra turrets installed on it. They behave like those of a POS, that can only be controlled by other players in the same fleet or from the same corp.
Create ships that have the ability to temporarily create a POS-type shield to protect capitals when they are in trouble and allow recharge.
And last thing... give us ships that allow for massive skins customisation. Give us a paint workshop like the character customisation, we want to be able to make our ship look extremely good. If you do this I will say "CCP is really serious".
Thank you and good luck to us.
You misunderstood.
They're talking about making PHYSICAL models of ships already in the game.

My eyesight is usually as good on Fridays as it is on mondays.
I think you meant 'Frigates'. Auto-spellcheck probably got you.

Jake Makbema wrote:I'd say remove the large protrusion underneath the Thorax. It would make it more streamlined and sexier.
Not exactly the purview of this thread, but there are several models that could do with 'tweaking' like that.
There are also models that have absolutely no balance. Balance is important since we supposedly have ships doing speeds and accelerations measured in 'infinities'. Bilateral (at least) symmetry is visually pleasing even to the layman's eye. An unbalanced ship just simply doesn't look right.
Oh, and Jake... do you truly support James 315 and the New Order? Rather foolish, that. |

DrysonBennington wrote:I think all of the models should be released.
What I haven't come across yet are plastic model kits that need to be glued together and then painted.
Release the all-time favorite Rifter with basic painting instructions along with a NEX Ship Painting Scheme and CCP should have a winner.
and you just happen to name the one ship they said they would NOT do. |

Page 39 and they're STILL doing it.
Usually, the ability to read is required to have the ability to write, but I'm begining to wonder about some of these posters. |

We need black ops!
Yet ANOTHER poster who has no clue what this thread is for... *shakes head* |

Not sure they intend it for that particular use.
Hmmm... I like your corp though. Can I join (don't PvP). |

Lefteh BORG wrote:Thorax and all its t2/pirate counterparts need a major texture rework.
First reason if you look at the plain thorax picture, your like o okay it doesn't look to bad just needs a brush up and fixing, but when you click on the actually image in 3D you see this massive tumor sticking of on a its side.
Second reason most ship that are symmetrical generally are more pleasing to the eye, and the thing it lacks most. Granted most Gallente ships don't have is symmetry, but most have a partial symmetry such as the catalyst, that looks fine but doesn't have a single large random tumor but multiple that looks pleasings thanks to its size.
Third reason if it was a real space ship i am pretty sure it will go off in a random dirtection spining like Sandra Bullock in gravity(well unless you balanced the engines to where one did not use optimal engine output on a unbalanced side and tweaked it some). Forth reason no Gallente ships have been re-made, which is really big since, they are quite well umm, *cough* ugly *cough*. and that is all that i can think of at the time. P.S. i probably messed up on some spelling or bad wording, so be warned.
I agree with you on most Gallente and/or Minanter ships, but that is NOT... I repeat, NOT the purpose of this thread. We're 40+ pages into this thread and some people STILL have no idea CCP wants to know which model you want sitting on your desk AS A PHYSICAL MODEL!!!! |

PEOPLE, this thread exists because CCP wants to know what model you want ON YOUR DESK or ON YOUR SHELF. Thay do NOT want to see your opinions of the in-game models.
Thankfully, they've stopped commenting on the thread, so I suspect they're not even looking at it anymore

ctx2007 wrote:Are these models going to be at 1/72 Scale
I have no idea. a couple CCP have come on and thanked the posters for the info. Since then, they haven't posted again.
Sounds like a good idea for me, too.
The people posting now... either you don't understand the purpose of the thread or maybe you just don't care.
Me, I don't care and I'm removing this thread's bookmark from my list. |
